Osteoporosis is a skeletal disorder characterized by compromised bone strength and increased risk of fractures. The ovariectomy (OVX)-induced model is one of the most widely used and reliable animal models for postmenopausal osteoporosis. Removal of the ovaries mimics the hormonal changes that occur after menopause, leading to bone loss and skeletal fragility.
